The third album that shall be reviewed by me today shall be Galaco Super Best with a compilation of multiple artists in one album. Therefore, it will be fair that I will get different tunes every time.
NOTE: My reviews are opinion based. I’m not always right. Not everyone enjoys the exact same thing. J
Oh, and I’ll usually give it one time listens, one shot. So, if a song doesn’t make me go yay, it doesn’t get into the Song Highlight, so yeah now you know how I work.
Album : galaco SUPER BEST
Genre : Mixed
Tracks : 20
Song Highlight : Brain, ルージュの伝言 (Rouge Message)
No intro this time since it’s a compilation of songs in one album so it’s straight into the juicy parts of the album!
What I like
Brain (Track 2) kind of gives me a mixed feeling. The beginning has that Arab-ish feeling and suddenly transitions to a techno-ish song. It’s like taking two elements and slapping them together. Was it good? Yes. Did I like the intro, not so? That’s the only part I didn’t like in the song, but the rest of the song was great. You can definitely hear a hint of that Arabian sounds if you listen properly (Unless you are using crappy earphones, maybe not…) but this is why I like this song. It’s not like any other song. It’s by Teddyloid (Made Me! Me! Me! And my favorite, Fly Away) so I’m not truly surprised. I am unable to find the lyrics, so no information here! @w@;
ルージュの伝言 (Rouge Message) (Track 20) seems to be my personal favorite. If you watched Kiki’s Delivery Service, you’d probably know why. It just kind of proves that Galaco can tackle these kinds of songs although the song has quite some age on it. Galaco’s voice bank surprising surprised me in this track. I didn’t see this coming honestly, of all the songs really! I was happy and excited when I heard the first jingle of the song. Then when Galaco started singing, I was like “HOLY SH@#!” because Galaco can nail the song so properly. It was really good and I can almost find no faults in it. This gets my 5 stars right away. It’s sad that it’s only 2 minutes and 33 seconds… :<
NOTE: Whenever I rate a song 5 star, it means it becomes my personal favorite. I don’t always give 5 stars and I only give 5 stars whenever I say “This song is too good, 5 stars!”
What I don’t like
I can’t say I don’t like all the songs because they just don’t fit well with me, so I’ll pass on this one. It all depends on what you like. If you’re gonna ask me which song in the album I don’t like, well I don’t hate all the songs in the album, I don’t like them a lot either.
I somehow don’t like tracks from samfree, I don’t know why. ギャラギャラ☆スペシャルハッピーナイト(Gala Gala Special Happy Night) (Track 7) is no exception. I don’t like the sound samples but it may be different for you. This is why this is a huge reason why this opinion is simply very personal because some of you may be huge fans of samfree.
Honestly, this album kind of sorts out what I like and don’t like. It kind of tried to accommodate every song style (not all) but it did indeed try. So that’s probably why there aren’t many song highlights because I was only a fan of certain genres.
If you needed to test the waters on what you like, this is for you. Do you like rock? Do you like country? Do you like electronica? Do you even like Galaco’s voice bank? This album will answer your questions.
Should you buy this album? : Maybe
Will Deathspark buy this album? : No
Reason: It would be nice to buy this album just for Rouge Message, but the value for one song just doesn’t fit the bill for me. It will be a no for me, sorry fans! ><;
I would give this a 3/5.
P.S. I’ll try to make my reviews constant. So I’ll post my reviews every Wednesday and Friday because they are days I find it best for me to review them. J
