Miku Scream E.P. (Review by Deathspark)

19th album gets louder; I think the title already says so. Miku Scream E.P. by Eve, huh… Honestly, I just picked this out of nowhere because I remembered that I used to hear a few tracks from this album, and forgotten about it. Let’s see if it’s good yeah?

Album: Miku Scream E.P.
Genre: Rock/Hardcore
Link: https://www.toranoana.jp/mailorder/article/04/0030/07/05/040030070555.html
(Seriously, how rare is this?! Link something more accessible if possible!)
Tracks: 8
Song Highlight: サクラ アゲイン (Track 5) [Sakura Again]

The intro itself already gives you an idea on how this album will be based on, screaming. Don’t get me wrong though, it’s properly used. It does not distort Miku’s voice too much, which is nice so good job there Eve.

What I like

サクラ アゲイン (Track 5) [Sakura Again] will remind you of your times when you played on your old consoles, literally. If you liked chiptune music, but chiptune just won’t cut it, well, chiptune and rock? Woah… This one does its job. Personally, this one got me hooked almost too quickly, trying to not get too carried away. Miku doesn’t scream as hard in this one, well, when I mean she doesn’t scream as hard doesn’t mean she won’t scream, it’s a screaming album. This one is just nice for me, definitely a go for all chiptune lovers. Though, if you asked me what it means, let me warn you, though it sounds awesome and cheerful, the brutal meaning behind this, is not…

Remember how Hello World murdered you to tears? This one may do the same, but because there are no English subs, it may not murder you as hard. Someone, translate this? I only deduced this song from the images in the official video.

What I don’t like

Nothing makes me feel uneasy or anything.

Personal Opinions

This song has a ton of screaming in it, and as you can see, there’s only one song that goes into my like list, now why? Well, maybe rock is something I am alright with, but maybe I just don’t like the screaming as much, so perhaps not really my cup of tea, but I strongly believe there are people liking this, so I’m sharing this out and hey, at least one of them was fantastic. Give it a go and tell me what you think! I think to some people who don’t know Eve yet, this one here is a good start.

Conclusion

If you enjoy rock and loads of screaming, well look no further because this may satisfy your appetite for that.

Should you buy this album? : Maybe (More on yes)
Will Deathspark buy this album? : Maybe not?
Reason: Well, this album isn’t my cup of tea; it’s not bad, but, well, maybe not meant for me.

I guess a 4/5 will cut it for this one. It may go for 3, but it may be biased because this seriously isn’t my cup of tea because it was alright.

  1. Though I usually like this kind of stuff, Miku’s tuning kinda irritates me. It seems as if she doesn’t have a solid base and is “loosely” singing around. Kinda sad as I really dig the music itself (especially with the chiptune in there).

    Nice article 🙂

    • Well, I do agree on your points, though it does have it’s own strengths as well like when she sings at high pitch, it sounds alright, of course, sometimes not all of them are perfect.

    • Honestly, I can agree with you since in my article, I did say there is a slight bias because I’m not into this genre too much. Great to hear you like this album 🙂
