No Title +/- (Review by Deathspark)

Landing onto the 48th album, I can clearly see that there are indeed a lot of fans on this. No Title+ is an album by Giga-P, and I believe there are quite a number of you out there who are fans of Giga-P. So without further ado, let’s see what this album can do. By the way, for those who don’t know Giga-P, Giga-P’s music is usually rapid and fast, so you can see how I may most probably love his style. In addition, Reol is also included in this album, and for those who don’t know Reol, Reol is a singer and is also a capable artist, someone you can take note of. She has a Youtube channel, well, official links of her songs, so check it out on Youtube!

Tracks: 11 Tracks
Song Highlight: ヒビカゼ (Hibikase) [Track 1], オオエドランヴ (Ooedo Ranvu) [Track 2], Drop pop candy (Track 3), -Interlude- (Track 5)

From the intro itself, I can feel its Giga-P’s style. It made me feel like it was an intro to a rhythm video game, which was cool. I love its feeling, groovy and smooth. At the same time, punchy and also party-like. I must say, this is truly an opening, just like the name of the song. If I need to introduce something with style, I’d pick this.

What I like

ヒビカゼ (Hibikase) [Track 1] is what I really wanted from Giga-P. Constant rhythm to keep you focused and enough to keep the melody interesting enough to follow. I can imagine myself watching the sound equalizer going up and down and if I were to imagine even more, this song would be superb for a game such as Voez. The style of the song is enough to make you want to dance or party. Honestly, if this was in a game, I’d gladly try to master this song.

オオエドランヴ (Ooedo Ranvu) [Track 2] is another song worth noting due to its jumpy beats along with the fast raps by Kyo I believe? There are only two singers, Gumi and Kyo, thus I will safely assume the rapper is Kyo. I love traditional instruments, and this one takes what I love to the next level, with dance music. I loved the sound of Koto, it fits perfectly with the song, not sacrificing each other or making any of the elements in the song feel subpar. Once again, this is perfect for a playable song in a game. The beats are constant and after some research, I believe these songs are actually charted in Osu! So that’s something at least!

Drop pop candy (Track 3) is an obvious favorite. One of the songs that got me into Giga-P’s works. It’s fast enough and catchy enough to be listened a lot of times, along with a whole load of different Vocaloids who are able to sing it, including Reol herself. Yes, Reol sang this song. In fact, Reol can sing most of the songs in this album I believe. Anyway, I believe if you are a Giga-P fan, you will know this song. I love how this song has that certain swing to it, and yet, it feels so comfortable although there are many sounds playing at the same time.

-Interlude- (Track 5) isn’t truly a song, but like I said, this whole album made me feel like this is a track list from a certain rhythm game. This one felt like the result screen of the game, and it’s good honestly. Of course, this one goes straight to the Inspiration list whereby I will listen to it for ideas.

What I don’t like

ギガンティックO.T.N -Big Death Edition- (Track 10) is a nightmare for me… Espcially when Kaito comes into the mix, which makes things double time bad. It felt like I’m listening to rubbish… I prefer the original version, and I can still accept it when I hear Len’s voice. The moment I hear Kaito, I just can’t enjoy it, not even a tiny bit… Sorry, not for me, 2 starred this the moment I hear it… Well, even when I listened the whole song, my mind won’t change…

Oh, and noticed that starting from Track 6 onwards I didn’t like them? Well, they just didn’t fit my tastes, for some reason… Oh well, sorry to those who loved those songs, I just couldn’t like them, though I believe there will be fans.

Conclusion

I liked the ending song at the end, it’s cute and once again, goes to my Inspiration playlist. Anyway, to conclude, this album consists of Techno and Electronica music, definitely a must have for die hard Giga-P fans.

Should you buy this album? : Probably (70%)
Will Deathspark buy this album? : Might? (60%)

Sure it has notable songs, but only a few…

SURPRISE!!! (Not really, you already know I’m reviewing both…)

Since No Title – is simply a repetition of No Title +, except now Reol takes the stage, why not take them all in one blow? So let’s go! We’re going two reviews in one bullet! This makes the 49th album, so yeah!
NOTE: Since I have reviewed the same songs above, I shall only talk about comparisons between Reol as singer and Vocaloids.

Album: No Title-
Genre: Techno/Electronica
Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/no-title/id1090290698
Tracks: 11 Tracks
Song Highlight: Echo (Track 7), ギガンティックO.T.N -Big Death Edition- (Track 10)

This time, the Opening was cranked up with Reol’s powerful voice. It didn’t make the song sound any worse and I felt that it was good. It’s as if you’d get her singing if you achieve something in a rhythm game, so that’s something.

What I like

Echo (Track 7) really shines what Reol can do. Her voice is very smooth in this song. Compared to the Vocaloid version, I felt that this was better because of Reol’s beautiful and clear voice. It’s a little slow, but Reol’s voice makes it up for this song with her powerful voice. I can imagine buildings crashing down in an apocalypse as a maiden is floating across the sea- This happened in Final Fantasy XIII-2 didn’t it…? Kinda…

ギガンティックO.T.N -Big Death Edition- (Track 10) [Gigantic O.T.N] works extremely well with Reol’s voice. Yes, the song I didn’t like above? It works here with Reol’s voice. It’s crazy and wacky, just like how this song is supposed to go. Reol somehow made this look like it was her song. When I mean her song, I mean nobody can copy this. It’s as good as the original at least, not as good maybe? But I liked this one, so that’s fine.

What I don’t like

Time to receive heavy fire, here we go… You see, I acknowledge that Reol can sing, but for some reason, her voice can’t click for ヒビカゼ (Hibikase) [Track 1] and オオエドランヴ (Ooedo Ranvu) [Track 2]. I felt that Miku and Gumi were more suited for these songs, so that’s just my opinion. For some reason, I felt like Reol was forcing to go extremely high pitch, which sort of made me feel uncomfortable. We know that Vocaloids can go high pitch easily, but humans? Not as easy… It’s a good try, some people may like Reol’s version, but I prefer the Vocaloid’s version, sorry!

How about drop pop candy (Track 3) you may ask? Well, that’s almost the same story, except this time, Reol’s pitch was higher and once again, I could feel like it was somehow a little forced, which didn’t feel right for me. I was okay with the male singer in this track (Kyo maybe?) but when Reol screams in this, I felt a little uncomfortable for some reason…

The rest however is almost no different from my review above, so there’s that!

Conclusion

The ending song now features a music box, and since you guys know I’m a sucker for traditional instruments, I’m a sucker for this. I liked this ending more, but it’s just for Inspiration obviously. Anyway! This album will be suited for those who felt like Vocaloids are boring and needed a human to take over, well, this album may be your answer.

Should you buy this album? : Probably (70%)
Will Deathspark buy this album? : Maybe? (50%)

I’d rather buy the + version because I prefer it. It’s a matter of preference, so see which floats your boat!

  1. Good review(s). No Title – is easily my favorite Utaite album.
I’d be curious to see what else you have on your “Inspiration playlist”.

  2. Would you like to review Eight -The BEST of Hachioji P- sometime? It’s his the most major album.
I heard Gigantic O.T.N -Big Death Edition- too, it sounds horrible, I agree. Wish he included the original version of the song.

  3. Kinda weird, but i want to know what’s up the lyrics of Echo. Do you guys have any clue?

Anyways, this is good review and keep it up a good work~

You know me? My soul? I do too well.
Cause you will, your soul saw you, I need a lee.
I don’t care why leave me, you guess all.
That you will discreate my mind, why don’t you…?

I can still remind me why
I don’t want honestly to rescind my dream
Listen that I’ve been mine like every truth.
Don’t drop tears or lie, I don’t need to remind
Don’t rescue me while I do sink
And there is new luck be with you.

You know me? My soul? I do too well.
Cause you will, your soul saw you, I need a lee.

You can be jeering really morally redacted, no reason, ooh

I can still remind me why
I don’t want honestly to listen my dream
Listen that I’ve behind every truth
Don’t drop tears or lie, I don’t need to remind
Don’t rescue me while I do sink

I just still remind me why
I don’t want honestly to rescind my dream
Listen that I’ve been mine like every truth.
Don’t drop tears, you’re right, I don’t need to remind!
Don’t rescue me while I do sink.
And than to last to be with you.
